Waits 3 days. Overthinks. Drafts. Deletes. Sends it next Tuesday.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"8,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The Professional:<\/b> Has the idea. Sends the email while walking to the elevator.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9\"><b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The Half-Life of Enthusiasm<\/b><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9\">Ideas are radioactive. They decay. The enthusiasm you feel for a project is highest at the moment of conception. Every hour you wait, the enthusiasm drops by 50%.<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"10\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10,0,0\">After 24 hours, the &#8220;spark&#8221; is cold.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10,1,0\">After 48 hours, the idea becomes a &#8220;chore.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10,2,0\">After 72 hours, it becomes a &#8220;regret.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11\"><b data-path-to-node=\"11\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The &#8220;Right Now&#8221; Protocol<\/b><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11\">If an action takes less than 2 minutes: <b data-path-to-node=\"11\" data-index-in-node=\"65\">Do it immediately.<\/b> Do not write it on a To-Do list. The time it takes to write it down is the time it takes to do it.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12\">If an action takes more than 2 minutes: <b data-path-to-node=\"12\" data-index-in-node=\"40\">Take the first step immediately.<\/b> Do not wait for &#8220;Focus Time.&#8221; Open the document. Write the title. Save it. You have broken the static friction.
