In reality, they are Lawyers. When you fail to ship a product, the Lawyer wakes up: <i data-path-to-node=\"8\" data-index-in-node=\"123\">&#8220;The market wasn&#8217;t ready,&#8221; &#8220;The team was slow,&#8221; &#8220;I was too busy.&#8221;<\/i> These sound like reasons. They are actually <b data-path-to-node=\"8\" data-index-in-node=\"233\">Rationalizations<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"9\"><b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The Direction of Truth<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"10\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Reasoning:<\/b> Evidence <span class=\"math-inline\" data-math=\"\\to\" data-index-in-node=\"20\"><span class=\"katex\"><span class=\"katex-html\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"base\"><span class=\"mrel\">\u2192<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> Decision.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"10,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Rationalization:<\/b> Decision <span class=\"math-inline\" data-math=\"\\to\" data-index-in-node=\"26\"><span class=\"katex\"><span class=\"katex-html\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"base\"><span class=\"mrel\">\u2192<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> Evidence.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11\">Rationalization is dangerous because it is &#8220;The Armor of Mediocrity.&#8221; It protects you from the pain of failure, but it also protects you from the lesson of failure. If you convince yourself the failure wasn&#8217;t your fault, you guarantee you will repeat it.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"12\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The Protocol: Fire the Lawyer<\/b><\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12\">To ascend, you must ruthlessly audit your own excuses. When you make a mistake, your brain will offer you a &#8220;Comforting Lie.&#8221; <b data-path-to-node=\"12\" data-index-in-node=\"156\">Reject it.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"13\"><b data-path-to-node=\"13\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The &#8220;5 Whys&#8221; of Pain<\/b><\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"13\">Instead of accepting the excuse, ask &#8220;Why&#8221; until it hurts.<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"14\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,0,0\"><i data-path-to-node=\"14,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Excuse:<\/i> &#8220;I didn&#8217;t have time to work out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,1,0\"><i data-path-to-node=\"14,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Why?<\/i> &#8220;I was busy with work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,2,0\"><i data-path-to-node=\"14,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Why?<\/i> &#8220;I said yes to a low-value meeting.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,3,0\"><i data-path-to-node=\"14,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Why?<\/i> &#8220;I crave validation from being &#8216;busy&#8217;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14,4,0\"><i data-path-to-node=\"14,4,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Truth:<\/i> <b data-path-to-node=\"14,4,0\" data-index-in-node=\"7\">&#8220;I value validation more than my health.&#8221;<\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"15\">Once you hit the Truth, you can fix it. As long as you stay in the Rationalization, you are trapped.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"16\"><b data-path-to-node=\"16\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">#DhandheKaFunda:<\/b> <i data-path-to-node=\"16\" data-index-in-node=\"17\">The worst lies are not the ones we tell others.
